Pacific Lifeline is a long-term comprehensive shelter program serving homeless women and children. Our purpose is to eliminate the threat of chronic homelessness for women and children. Our strategic program and commitment to the long-term stability of the families we serve distinguished us from other shelters.
We provide the structure that allows families to establish a foundation that will enable them to remain self sufficient. We are not only committed to rebuilding the lives of homeless families, but we also have the passion for providing opportunities for others to serve.
Turning lives around
Renee came to Pacific Lifeline after aging out of the foster care system. Entering our program in April 2013, she was not bonded with her young daughter, had no high school diploma or work experience, and was so shy she wouldn’t look anyone in the eye or hold a conversation. Through our therapy program and parenting support, Renee is no longer indifferent to her daughter’s needs, and interacts with her in positive ways. Renee worked with our tutors and passed her GED tests with honors. Due to not having job experience, Renee volunteered at a senior care center to gain job skills, and she blossomed. Her shyness disappeared, her self-confidence grew exponentially, she presents herself more professionally, and she was hired on as paid staff. Renee received Section 8 housing and moved into a local apartment in September 2014.
